Kalavathi
Former Homemaker
Hyderabad
First female operator in her area, inspired 4+ women
From Homemaker to Entrepreneur
For years, Kalavathi managed her home while her husband worked as a daily laborer. The income was barely enough, and she yearned to contribute. But opportunities for women in her community were limited.
When she heard about LooCafe's opportunity for women entrepreneursโspecifically the LooCafe Pink program for women-only facilitiesโshe saw a chance to contribute to her family's income while maintaining her household responsibilities. The flexible hours allowed her to manage both.
Today, Kalavathi runs a thriving LooCafe Pinkโa women-only facility that has become a safe space for women in her area. She's not just an operator; she's become a mentor for other women looking to start their own LooCafe journey.
"Many women told me they were scared to use public toilets before," Kalavathi shares. "Now they come to mine because they know it's safe, clean, and run by a woman who understands their needs."
Her success has inspired four other women in her community to become LooCafe operators. She mentors each one personally, sharing everything she's learned.
"Women come here because they know it's safe, clean, and run by someone who understands."
