Sapna
Former Kirana Store Owner
Hyderabad
Fresh start after hardship, community favorite
From Kirana Store Owner to Entrepreneur
Sapna's journey to LooCafe came through hardship. She had built a successful kirana (grocery) store over several years, sacrificing and saving every rupee. Then local extortionists came demanding "protection money" she couldn't afford to pay.
When she refused, they made running her business impossible. She lost everythingβher store, her savings, her dreams. For months, she struggled with depression and uncertainty.
Then she discovered LooCafe through a community program for women entrepreneurs. Her LooCafe, located near a popular dog park, has become a gathering spot for morning walkers and pet owners.
"I was broken when I started," Sapna admits. "But every customer who smiles at me, every 'thank you aunty' from a childβit healed something. I built this with my own hands, and no one can take it from me."
Sapna has transformed her tragedy into triumph. She serves 50-60 users daily, many of whom have become regulars who know her by name. Her resilience and warm hospitality have made her LooCafe one of the most beloved in the area.
